The scope of the work of an INSTRUMENT MECHANIC |
An instrument mechanic in a power station may be concerned with anything
from a thermometer to closed-circuit television. He is responsible for the
maintenance and repair of all the instruments in the power station, and
these cover every aspect of mechanical, electrical and operational equipment.
Instrumentation plays an ever-increasing part in the efficiency of generating
stations and its role is especially important in the operation of nuclear
power stations. The demand for qualified instrument mechanics is growing.
